How your allowance works

Your plan includes a quota to use Otto throughout the month. Creating content, chatting, requesting revisions, researching, and publishing use this quota according to the work performed. The post count is an estimate of how far your quota goes: you decide how to distribute it across these activities.

Yes. On X, creating and publishing a tweet with a link uses, on average, about 3.6 times the quota of a simple tweet without a link. For example, “I launched my product today!” is a post without a link; “Check out my product: mysite.com” is a post with a link. The comparison includes creation and publishing, without extra research. Revisions and other requests may change the total usage.

The higher publishing usage for links applies when the URL appears in the final text published on X. If you send a link for Otto to study and the post does not include that URL, publishing counts as a post without a link. Researching and analyzing the reference also uses quota.

Yes, even if you do not publish the result. Requests such as “create three versions,” “change the tone,” or “rewrite the opening” use quota each time they run. Deleting a draft does not return the quota already used to create it.

A thread includes several tweets: creating the thread and publishing each tweet both count toward usage. Tweets in the thread that contain links use the publishing quota for links. Generating or regenerating an image also uses quota, in addition to the text. The total varies with the size and requests made.

X Article is X’s long-form format: a public title, optional cover, and rich body (markdown in Otto). X only, and the account needs X Premium to publish. On average an article uses about 3× the quota of a simple post — longer generation plus draft, publish, and image uploads. That figure is a product estimate; publishing meters the article’s seed post as an X write, and generation counts as AI usage. Limits: no formatted code blocks on X; GIFs/videos in the body are not accepted; scheduling is Otto’s (X’s API does not schedule articles).

Publishing on LinkedIn or Threads does not deduct publishing quota, with or without a link. Creating, adapting, and revising text, generating images, and asking Otto for research or analysis use quota as usual. The publishing usage and extra usage for links described in this FAQ are specific to X.

Yes. Asking Otto to “find current trends” uses quota to look up and analyze current topics. If you also ask for example posts, more detail, or ideas based on them, those steps count toward usage. The total depends on the research performed; there is no fixed amount per request.

Yes. Looking up posts from a profile, references on a topic, or examples of what is working uses quota. Usage varies with the amount of content reviewed and the analysis requested. This research is separate from the collection of your own profile metrics included in your plan.

Each new search uses quota, even on the same day. This also applies to asking for new analyses or chat replies. Simply opening a conversation and rereading previous replies does not use quota.

With an active subscription, collecting your X profile metrics is included in your plan and does not deduct production quota. All plans also track your total followers:

• Solo: up to 10 recent tweets every 3 days.
• Cadência: up to 10 recent tweets per day.
• Máquina: up to 10 recent tweets per day. After seven days, a review of up to 50 tweets may replace the smaller collection, with at least seven days between broader reviews.

Otto checks for an update when you open Insights or request your metrics through chat or an integration, following your plan's interval. If that interval has not passed, you see the saved data. There is no continuous collection while you are away. Posts outside the update retain their latest available measurement.

Collecting your metrics is included in your subscription. Conversations and requests for interpretation, recommendations, or new posts based on that data use quota as usual. You can open Insights to view saved data even without available production quota. Without an active subscription, new collections also use available quota.

The initial analysis of up to 50 tweets from your profile, performed during account setup to learn your writing style, does not deduct quota. If you request another analysis after completing that step, it uses quota as usual.

As a reference for creating and publishing simple tweets without links: Solo, about 30 posts per month; Cadência, about 85; Máquina, about 240. These are estimates, not guaranteed amounts. Links, research, threads, images, and revisions use the same quota and may reduce this output.

Monthly quota renews with each new paid subscription cycle. Unused monthly quota does not roll over to the next cycle. Additional quota from top-ups is kept separately and does not expire at the end of the month; Otto uses available monthly quota first, then additional quota.

A top-up adds quota for the same activities, without changing your plan or increasing the frequency of included metrics. How far it goes also depends on usage: posts with links, research, and revisions use this additional quota under the same rules.

New activities that require quota become unavailable until you have enough balance again. You can buy additional quota in Billing and usage, wait for renewal, or switch to a larger plan. Scheduled posts on X also need available quota at publishing time. Publishing content already prepared for LinkedIn or Threads does not deduct publishing quota. Included metrics remain available while your subscription is active.

Provide context and your preferred tone in the first request, combine changes into one revision, and reuse references you already have. Ask for up-to-date research when you need it. To track your numbers, check Insights within the intervals included in your plan.
